Documentation

Everything you need to run Threadseam

Install, administer, and extend Threadseam in your Slack or Microsoft Teams workspace. Every setting is documented; every API has an example.

Install for Slack

  1. Visit threadseam.app/install/slack and sign in with your Slack workspace.
  2. Grant Threadseam the channels:history, channels:join, and chat:write scopes.
  3. Add @threadseam to any channel you want it to read. Private channels require the consent of every member.

Install for Microsoft Teams

  1. In Teams, open the Apps directory and search for Threadseam.
  2. Click Add to a team and choose the team or channel.
  3. An admin with the Teams app installer role must approve before Threadseam starts reading.

Admin console

The admin console lives at app.threadseam.app/admin. From there you can:

  • Add and remove channels from capture scope.
  • Configure data retention per channel (30 / 90 / 365 days, or indefinite).
  • Export the full knowledge base as JSON, Markdown, or Notion.
  • Set up SSO (Google, Okta, Azure AD, custom SAML).

Review queue

Every candidate entry lands in a review queue. Reviewers can edit, approve, or reject in one keystroke. The queue supports batching, bulk approve, and inline comments.

Export & API

The REST API is at https://api.threadseam.app/v1. Authenticate with a workspace token from the admin console.

curl https://api.threadseam.app/v1/entries \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TM_TOKEN" \
  -G -d "channel=eng-backend" -d "limit=50"

CLI

The CLI (npm i -g @threadseam/cli) wraps the API for scripting:

threadseam login
threadseam entries list --channel eng-backend
threadseam export --format markdown --out ./kb
